Monastery Panagia Skopiotissa

When going up to Mount Scopos, it is a must to visit the Monastery of Panagia Skopiotissa, whose name means the Holy Guardian God Mother. Part of the church was destroyed with the passage of time, but it is still possible to visit the largest part of it and see the church icons and artistic paintings that embody the saints. Archeological remains can also be seen from the Temple of Artemis, the Greek goddess of hunting and nature, as the mountain was a sacred site for them.
