Mount of Temptation

Jabal al-Arbaeen, also known as the Mountain of Temptation or Jabal Quruntal, is famous for being the mountain in which Satan tried to tempt Christ during his 40-day fast. It is located about 5 kilometers northwest of Jericho in the West Bank, and its summit, which rises about 360 meters, provides Above sea level, a magnificent panoramic view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and the mountains of Moab and Gilead. The summit can be reached via a 30-minute journey on a steep path, passing the steep, gravity-defying Monastery of Quruntal, or a 5-minute cable car ride from Jericho Hill.
