The Perast City Museum was established by the Perast Municipal Council in 1937 to display the collection collected from the donations of the heirs of famous Montenegrin families during the second half of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. Many important permanent collections, such as the esoteric, nautical, economic and cultural collections from Perast during the rule of the Venetian Republic between 1420 and 1797 and the Austro-Hungarian rule during the 19th century.
