National Gallery Prague – Kinsky Palace
The history of the Prague National Gallery dates back to 1796 AD, when a group of important Czech national nobility joined a few intellectual citizens in the decision to raise the declining public taste, whereby the Society of National Friends of the Arts was created, and soon two institutions were established that Prague had lacked before: the Academy Fine Art and Picture Gallery, which was open to the public. Today, the National Gallery is a state-owned art gallery, managing the largest art collection in the Czech Republic and presenting masterpieces of Czech and international fine art in permanent and temporary exhibitions.
