Palace of Schools

The Palace of the Schools, also known as the Coimbra Palace of the Royals or the Palace of the University of Coimbra, is the historical heart of the University of Coimbra, where traditional academic ceremonies are still held. It was once the main residence of the Portuguese kings between 1255 and 1503, and is characterized by its medieval and Manueline architecture with Some influences are from the Renaissance, Baroque, Mannerism and Neoclassicism.
