Porta Pretoria

The Pretoria Gate is the eastern gate to the city of Aosta. It is a Roman stone gate built in 25 BC. The gate still maintains its shape as the eastern façade still contains some marble panels. The gate consists of three openings: the central opening for vehicles, and the side openings for pedestrians. The gate is located in a central square in Aosta, where tourists flock, as it includes many monuments surrounding the gate, such as statues and memorials, as well as many double arches.
