Name of the place
Roman Villa of Damecuta
Roman Villa of Damecuta
It is one of the twelve Roman villas built by Emperor Tiberius on the island of Capri. The villa is one of the few Roman ruins still preserved on the island, and the area around the villa was fortified in the Middle Ages by building a huge stone watchtower around it. This watchtower is one of the most well-preserved buildings of all time. Around the fortified villa, there are picturesque natural spaces in which tall trees and wild plants grow. In the vicinity of the villa, at the top of the hill, there is a local restaurant overlooking the sea directly.
