Venetian walls of Nicosia
The Venetian Walls of Nicosia are a series of defensive walls that surround Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The first city walls were built in the Middle Ages, but were completely rebuilt in the mid-16th century by the Republic of Venice, which is why it was given this name. The walls were distinguished by a huge architectural design, with wide, fortified facades that were fully prepared to repel enemy attacks on the country.
