War Museum

The War Museum is located in the heart of the urban environment of the city. It is a comprehensive museum of modern Greek history and culture. It is housed in a historic building dating back to the early twentieth century, and has had an active presence since its first year of operation in 2000. The museum hosts 9 permanent exhibitions with more than 10,000 historical artifacts, providing visitors with the opportunity to see a vivid representation of modern Greek history. The museum's antiquities include: original manuscripts, maps, paintings, medals, clothes, flags, weapons, and more. Museum staff also offer comprehensive guided tours and help visitors experience and understand the essence of history and its relevance to the modern world.
