The Great Mosque

In the old town of Tiberias, this ancient mosque is located, which stands out as an unparalleled archaeological masterpiece. This mosque was built by Al-Zahir Omar Al-Zaidani in the year 1743 AD. The mosque consists of two floors, a ground floor below sea level and a floor above sea level. The Great Mosque is characterized by a distinctive architectural shape consisting of domes and walls of an octagonal shape, and the number of the mosque’s windows is about 10 windows in addition to the majestic eight-shaped minaret. It is now one of the abandoned mosques in the city of Tiberias and closed to worshipers, and visitors can wander in the old town near the mosque and get acquainted on its history.
