Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered one of the largest mosques in the world, and it is one of the mosques that receives huge numbers of worshipers, local visitors, and tourists due to the mosque’s great religious importance, as it is the first of the two qiblahs in the Islamic religion, and it has great importance as the Messenger’s captives moved from the Sacred Mosque to Al-Aqsa Mosque, where the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, prayed. He prayed two rak’ahs, and the area of the large mosque includes the Dome of the Rock, the Al-Qibli Mosque, the Marwani Chapel, and a number of other monuments, numbering about 200 archaeological and historical monuments, which vary between the different domes and minarets, including the Moroccan minaret and the various gates branching from the neighborhoods of the old town.
